The DPDP Act's Schedule sets maximum penalties for specified contraventions. The amounts are ceilings, not automatic fines, and the operational provisions have a phased commencement timeline.

The Schedule provides a maximum penalty up to ₹250 crore for failure to take reasonable security safeguards. Actual outcomes depend on the statutory process and facts.
